This Christmas season I dressed my mantel with pre-lit garland. The long length goes all the way to the floor, creating an impressive design. The decorations I used are the same as on the tree. I loaded it with various ornaments, pine cones, berries and flowers to make it full and beautiful. The ribbons found throughout the garland and tree are rich in colors of the season. They are decorative and wide, about four inches, and give a dramatic look. Using ornaments of various sizes creates interest. I like to tuck some of these ornaments inside the tree. This gives the tree more depth and fullness, especially if the tree has bare spots. The use of flowers and floral picks also helps to fill in those troubled areas.
Two angels blowing trumpets are the center piece of my coffee table. I have them perched on stands, both at different heights. This height difference gives the arrangement an interesting look.
I love hanging wreaths on mirrors during the holidays throughout my home. It makes the mirror a statement piece in the room. The one you see here is decorated the same as the tree and garland. Floral picks and a big bow fills it out. I created a flowing feeling on the wreath by weaving the ribbons along it’s shape. Creating a professional feeling in a room is easy if you combine the items in an uniform way. This will give you that “just right feeling” you are looking for. Your decorating style can be traditional, contemporary or modern. What ever your choice, remember…keep everything you use related or some what the same for a well-balanced look!

Absolutely magical! The look in this room takes one back to feelings of “Christmases of Old” which is often what we so long for at this special time of year. Well done!
