Happy Friday and Happy May! I purchased this wooden tray at Pier One this week and couldn’t wait to use it on my family room coffee table. It’s perfectly square and has a wonderful antique look to it! I placed the pitcher I showcased last post on the tray and filled it with pinkish/red tulips. I love how they have a slight tint of yellow in them. How pretty they are! They just shout spring!
I took two of the lanterns I put away for Christmas back out. The white finish works beautifully with the white tray. Propping the smaller lantern on a book gives it the height needed to proportion the vignette. It would have looked too small next to the other items on the tray, if I hadn’t used the book. I like how the red book plays against the red tones in the tulips.
Adding a bird sitting on a finial post finishes the look. It’s white antique look blends in with the vignette. I am happy with the lightness this vignette gives my table. It brightens up the table and the room. After this long and dark winter, light and bright is the way to go all over the house!
The vignette I created on my desk in the corner of the family room displays my stafford style dogs. I propped one on a pedestal. I like the way they look when one is higher than the other. It makes the design more interesting.
I love, love, love these roses I found the other day at the grocery store! They have a beautiful, almost antique look to them. They have soft hues of yellow, pink, orange and peach tones. Flowers fill-in any vignette with grace and ease. To bad they don’t last longer than they do! At least they look lovely while they are in their prime.
Thanks for stopping in today! Hope your weekend is beautiful and as always lovely!
