Happy Monday everyone! I hope your Mother’s Day was as delightful as mine! Today I thought I would do a post on my alfresco style Mother’s Day dinner. Alfresco in Italian means “fresh air” and yesterday was exactly that here in Connecticut. It was beautiful and definitely a lot of fresh air! I set my table with a spring theme using all the wonderful flowers I acquired. I like to create a fun and friendly feeling on my table that exemplifies the day. I started out with wonderful Gerber daisies, then added tulips and roses to the mix. The blend was just what I wanted and looked perfect! The pink and blue watering cans holding the daises were so pretty. They shouted spring! I loved the way they filled the table with their bright colors!
I brought out the wicker chargers I purchased at my favorite home decor store. It was just the right thing that worked well for an outside theme. Their edging made them look so dainty and perfect for a Mother’s Day or Spring table. I added my cream dishes and rose colored napkins folded to resemble flowers. Colorful and pretty was the look I wanted and got!
The soft pink tones of the roses and tulips complimented the bright yellow tones of the daises and created an elegant and picturesque design.
I loved the way the blue of the water can complimented the light and dark pinks of the flowers on the other side of the table.
All in all the day was as lovely as it could be and my table reflected that feeling through the place settings, flowers and of course family that were sitting around it with me!
Wishing you a lovely day!
