Happy Weekend Everyone! It’s another beautiful day here in the North East! The temperature is warm and humid, but at least it is sunny and bright! I’m sharing my front door design with you today.
I love the look of lanterns in my designs. Lanterns are a great accessory that fills in a vignette or display nicely. I like using different sizes, it gives designs more interest. They work perfectly at the front door. The lanterns, along with the urns and flower pots, makes the front porch very welcoming. I have timed flameless candles in the lanterns that go on every night around eight pm. The warm glow creates a peaceful feeling.
I had this small wooden bench from when my children were little. I had it put away in the shed and thought I could use it for my front porch display. I placed an old watering can on it that I filled with some Devine Impatiens. It needed a friend, so I placed an unique metal flower pot near it. I filled the pot with yellow and white Torenia. The colors contrast nicely with the pink Impatiens that are seen here in the urn. For a little more interest I tucked an Ivy plant into one of the lanterns.
I used another metal flower pot on the other side of the door. This one also holds yellow and white Torenia. I found the pots about a month ago. I love the lettering on the front of them! They have an old world feel to them. I tucked a small Devine Impatiens plant in the large sized lantern, again, for more interest. The urn offsets the other one with the same pink Impatiens. I like some balance to my designs for a more traditional look for my home. You don’t have to balance everything in your design to get the look, as long as one or two elements are a mirror image of each other. Everything else you use with these elements just adds more fullness and interest to the design.
Thanks for stopping by!
Wishing you a Lovely Weekend!
