Autumn’s Early Arrival

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Autumn is in the air and cooler weather is making it feel that way. I love this season! There is so much color and excitement with the changes that take place during this season. The trees are already changing here and there. Though I don’t want to see the green go away, I do enjoy the explosion of color that’s about to happen soon! We can’t stop the change, but we can enjoy it and just let it happen!
I’m excited to show you an Autumn design in my new dining room. Hard to believe that the dining room was renovated two months ago! I made it very Fall friendly. Today I’m showing you one portion of the room. It’s the electric fireplace. I wanted it to be a focal point when you walk in the room. I decorated it with various Fall finds to give it an Autumn feel.

I used this large size lantern right in the middle of the mantel. I placed a “real looking” flameless candle in it. These new types of candles look amazing! From a distance, you think it’s a regular candle with a real flame. The lantern matches the ones I have on my table. I like their continuity in the design of the room. I used a mantel swag that has some faux pumpkins and gourds on it. It’s twiggy elements are great for a Fall look. There’s plenty of faux leaves, pinecones and berries that fill it out. Adding more items to it made it even fuller. I used green and gold pears, green pomegranates, small white pumpkins and more pinecones. The large white sunflowers have glitter on them. I like the slight sparkle they give. It’s unexpected!

The harvest look is perfect for my dining room. I stuck with light colors. No bright orange tones here. I wanted a soft elegant feel with a touch of rustic. The wreath above the fireplace, purchased a few years ago, has a grass look to it. I added a bow I made from burlap ribbon to give it a shabby chic feel.

  1. Hi Luann,
Your fireplace is beautiful and you did a great job of accessorizing the mantle for sure.
Love the large lantern light and all the fruit and flowers. It looks wonderful.
My fav season of the year is Fall, not for the weather tho, cause we live in Florida and
we really don’t get that much cool weather, but I love it for all the events that take place this time of year………so much fun to look forward to……….
I just finished my Fall decorating today………..and very happy about that.
Blessings, and thanks for sharing your beautiful fireplace and mantle.

    • Thank you Nellie for your lovely comment and for stopping by today! The mornings here are starting to feel like fall for sure. The humidity got much lower the past few days…it’s been like your weather here! Lol Thanks for liking my fall decor! I’ve got much more to show! Please visit again!
      Have a great week!

  2. LuAnn, All the colors look amazing with your draperies. The fireplace was such a nice touch. We have a third floor room that we want to add a faux fireplace to. It’s a second family room, but also serves as my office, so that will make the room feel nice and cozy and will be another place to add seasonal decor. I need a good sized one for that room, to fill out the wall space, so that purchase will have to wait until we get some other things done around here first. I’m starting to see signs of autumn up here in southeastern PA., but peak color doesn’t come until closer to Nov. Sadly, I can’t put out all the decor I usually display due to the fact that we’re in the long process of several remodeling projects, but I can still enjoy looking at everyone else’s. I did purchase a lovely autumn dinnerware set in subdued colors that I can’t wait to use this year–Pier 1’s Harvest Garden pattern. I also bought lovely lidded pumpkin soup bowls through them to top off the set. Think it will look nice. Thank you for sharing your fabulous room.

    • Thank you Bobbi for liking my post! A fireplace would be fabulous in your office! It would make it very warm and cozy for sure. It’s hard and frustrating during a renovation, but after it’s done it will be well worth it. Then the decorating can begin! lol Doesn’t Pier 1 have great decor items? I love shopping there! Thanks for visiting today! I have another fall post coming soon!

  3. LuAnn everything looks so beautiful! I need to bust out my fall bins sometime today and cracking. When it is 95 outside it i shard though to think fall and pumpkins. Thanx for partying at THT!

    • Hi Pam! I’m so glad it’s not that hot here! Though high 70s and 80s with high humidity is still pretty warm. Cooler weather is on it’s way tomorrow…I can’t wait! Thank you for your comment and for hosting your party!
