Happy weekend everyone! It’s a warm weekend here in CT. This time of year gives us perfect weather! The air is cool and the sun is warm during the day and the nights are crisp. Perfect fire pit or fireplace weather! I’m sharing my front porch today. It’s all decorated for Fall. I decided to use bright Fall colors this year.
I love the colors of the wreath on the front door. The orange sunflowers are wonderful. The neutral colors for the leaves, artichokes, berries and burlap bow really says “Fall”.
Chrysanthemums are such a wonderfully full and colorful flowering plant. You can’t go wrong with them! There are so many varieties and colors to pick from. I just love the contrast between the bright yellow mums and the purple and orange ones. I like combining contrasting colors together to create a big impact. When you see them you can’t help but smile. Visitors at my door have commented on their beauty.
I placed small beaded pumpkins in my large lantern. I like the look of the Fall elements next to the flameless candles. The other lanterns have faux colorful leaves in them. They make the lanterns look pretty especially at night. Larger beaded pumpkins fill the white bench and one stands alone on the ground.
The pumpkins play nice with the sunflowers on the wreath. They help to complete the design and gives it more interest.
I hope I inspired you today with my Fall Front Porch.

Hi, LuAnn. Your porch is beautiful! I love how you combined the colors, and I really like the lanterns with the arrangement…so cozy at night. I’m still working on getting our little front entry ready. Just found some great evergreens that will get orange lights to compliment the Halloween decor I’ll put up…we get a good number of little ones and they always get a kick out of the entry, and then we have them come in to see our spooky village.Your home is so pretty, inside and out, and CT. is such a great state. We like to visit the Litchfield area for antique shopping and we love Mystic with it’s quaint nautical look. Hasn’t the weather been perfect? Wish it could stay this way as they’re calling for a brutal winter this year, worse than last. We were without power last year for five days, but I shouldn’t even complain because so many were far more devastated than we. Have a lovely day!
Hi Bobbi! Fall and Halloween Decorating is so much fun! You can get away with a lot of crazy things this time of year! We get a lot of trick or treaters here too. Our carved pumpkins would get a lot of complements. We use to do about seven or more and place them on the front steps. I’m very thankful we live here in CT! It’s a pretty state especially this time of year! I love to go in the Litchfield area too. Believe it or not, I wanted my husband and I to take my 12 year old son to Mystic just this past weekend. We actually were going to NYC to see the exhibits at the Metropolitan Museum, but the large concert at Central Park stopped us. It would be crazy trying to get in and out of the city. We stayed home either way. Maybe next week, if not Mystic then the Bronx Zoo. We’ll have to see what the weather will be like. I hope the winter isn’t too bad! The large snow storm we had Oct. 29th (my birthday) 2011 we lost our power for a week. Hurricane Sandy on Oct. 29th, (my birthday again) 2012 we kept the power and were very lucky. No eventful birthday last year. My husband was able to take me out for dinner with my family. Thank Goodness! Hopefully none this year too. lol
Have a lovely Monday!

I am hoping no fowl weather for your birthday this year. Sounds like you live near NYC…lots to do there. We live 40 minutes southwest of Philadelphia. It’s nice to live close enough for big city entertainment, but I cherish the peacefulness when we return home. I bet your pumpkins are amazing. We don’t have a lot of porch space now that we’ve downsized so not too much can be presented. I’ll just have to change things from year to year to keep it interesting. Hope you have a great day, too.
Thanks Bobbi! We live about 90 minutes from NYC and 2 hours or less from Boston depending on the traffic. It’s nice to live between two big cities! I do agree that the peace and solitude of home is wonderful!
Have a wonderful week!
