Falling for the Front Porch

Happy October! You are joining me today on my front porch! I would love to share more of my Fall decor with you. Please take a seat and enjoy your visit. On Saturday, I posted about my colorful front door. Now, I’m showing how I decorated the rockers, table and planter that are on my front porch.

On my rocking chair is an orange outdoorpillow that’s just the right Fall color. I used a black and white check print outdoor pillow against it. The combination gives a perfect Fall/Halloween look. The yellow mums in the white planter just pop. I had done a post on this planter in May. Click here to see my post ” Perfect Planter”. I just love the contrast between the yellow flowers in the white planter, against the blue of the house. I propped two small sized beaded pumpkins on the planter shelf. DSC_0039

I like the way these pumpkins shimmer in the light. I wanted to use my blingy pumpkins for a touch of the unexpected. The fact that they shimmer and shine gives my Fall design a little more interest.DSC_0064
On the other side of the porch is my white wicker table. It’s all decorated with what else, “blingy” pumpkins! More orange and black and white check patterned outdoor pillows are on these rockers also.DSC_0061

I filled an apothecary jar with very small beaded pumpkins and placed it on the table in back of my white owl. The small lantern has a faux candle and a few colorful leaves in it. When the candle turns on at night, it’s warm glow, along with the colorful leaves, is very inviting. The tall pumpkin and white sun flowers finish the look on the table and makes it pretty.DSC_0063

I wanted the front porch to be a true reflection of Fall and Halloween too.

It’s so nice to sit outside on the front porch with a hot chocolate or coffee and enjoy all of these wonderful colors of Fall!

  1. The colors of your Fall decorating is just gorgeous! I agree that the yellow, white and blue with a pop of orange works so beautifully! A perfect place for a girlfriend chit chat!

  2. Your porch looks so inviting may I come sit with you and share some hot chocolate?.you know you have done well when a stranger wants to sit and be invited to share your porch. very homey and comfortable.Susie

  3. The porch is splendid! I’ve always loved black and white with orange…with red, too. The orange goes nicely with the bricks as well. I’m hoping to have my little porch and deck done soon. I got slowed down when I purchased some new faux evergreens (PVC) that were bigger than our last ones, which meant I had to search high and low to find the same orange lights we already owned. Plus, I kinda got caught up with pressure cleaning our deck and going to all the festivals and antique events that are going on in the tri-state area this time of year…doesn’t take much to lure me away when I know old man winter isn’t far behind. Their calling for a tough winter. Br-r-r-r!

    • Hi Bobbi! Sounds like you are one busy lady. I’m starting to think about Christmas Decor already. Crazy right? I hope this winter isn’t too bad! I do like the snow though. I feel if the trees are to be all bare and brown, at least the snow makes it look pretty! I hope you have a lovely weekend! I know it’s going to rain on Sat. but Sunday looks wonderful!

    • Thank you April for your lovely comment and for sharing my post on Pinterest and FB!
I’m very grateful for my front and back porch/deck. We use them both a lot from Spring right through Fall. So sad that winter will soon be here and most things will be stored away. We tend to get a lot of snow where we are here in CT.
      Have a lovely week!
