A Lovely Winter’s Tea Party

DSC_0023

A Winter tea party is my theme for January. What better way to get through this long Winter month, than with a hot cup of tea? My dining room is the best spot in the house. Newly redone, it looks like it could be a tea room.

Not everything was put away for Christmas. I kept out items that are cheery and wintery, like these white trees. I have some of them propped on white stands and under glass cloches. Anything to brighten up the dark Winter months. The creams and whites work perfectly to symbolize Winter!

I folded my pink napkins to resemble roses and tucked them here and there. I like the contrast and warmth the pink gives to the cream and white tones.

I love to use elements of nature in my designs, like birds for example. My bird decor is found all around the room. One example is here perched on a post. It fits in beautifully next to the stacked tea cups and saucers.

This small white bird is perched on my lantern. I love how it’s fun and whimsical!

I left the small white birds, crystal snowflakes and these crystals hanging from branches on my chandelier. They were all perfect for my Christmas design. All these items make my chandelier look very wintery.

I arranged these creamy white hydrangeas in a tureen on my buffet. I wanted them to look like they are spilling out of the tureen.
