I’m sharing my kitchen island today. I left a few items from Christmas on the island and added other items to fill out the display. I wanted it to look festive for Valentine’s Day, but not with red hearts and flowers. I thought using yellow roses, edged with a peachy-pink color, would do nicely. I continued to use a black check pattern in the design. (It’s the same pattern I used on the kitchen table.) I wanted to keep the look on the island consistent with the look on the table. I love how the black check gives an elegant touch to the design.
Black straws with white polka dots compliment the black check pattern beautifully. Chocolate milk is ready to be poured into the small milk bottles holding the straws.
These yellow roses are a beautiful contrast against the black check pitcher in which they are arranged.
The height of the lantern adds interest to the design, along with the black check ribbon bow tied on top.
Pretty mugs are ready for some steaming hot chocolate in the hot chocolate pot.
Stacked tea cups and saucers, along with a black check tea kettle, are a pretty part of the design. They’re ready for anyone who wants some tea and chocolate cookies. Apothecary jars are filled with Valentine candies, Oreo cookies and Hershey Kisses.
My white compote is filled with golden heart ornaments, I left from my Christmas display. I added cute white twine hearts to the collection. It makes a perfect Valentine’s Day arrangement!
You don’t need to use red tones in your Valentine’s Day Displays to say “Valentine”. Any color will do, as long as the idea of the day is present.
I hope you enjoyed my “Valentine’s Day – A Different Type of Display” post!
