Kitchen Kitty

I would like you to meet one of our two Persian Himalayans. We call her “Girly”. She is a very small cat and a very dainty cat. She is definitely very “girly”!
Girly loves to follow me around the house. She is always by my side and loves my attention.

Girly loves the bay window sill above my kitchen sink. She enjoys bathing in the afternoon sun that streams through the windows. How nice to lay in the sun, while just out side snow is piled deep?

Girly keeps me company while I do the afternoon dishes and prepare for dinner. She loves to see whats going on before she falls asleep on her back. We think she’s part otter. I want to put an abalone shell between her paws.

Don’t get up too fast from the kitchen table, because Girly is right there in a flash to steal your warm seat.

My faithful cat is by my side, or in this case, on top of my desk in my office. I actually took these photos while I was working on this post. I give her an old towel to sleep on, otherwise she will lay on top of whatever I have on my desk.

Here Girly is on top of my laundry. I will leave my office to go fold the laundry in my laundry room. The cat will wake up and jump off the desk in the office and jump on the counter in the laundry room. She then proceeds to lay on the clean, warm laundry and falls back asleep. No matter where I am, there she’ll be! My faithful Girly!

  1. I have ALWAYS love Himalayans next to Siamese they are my favorite and I always saying they will be my next cat. she is so precious i love Girly if you ever need someone to pet-sit don’t hesitate to reach me. Susie

    • Hi Susie! Thank you for stopping by to visit today. Girly is very precious to me. My Mom always had Siamese and I wanted them too…but I couldn’t resist the long hair version of them. What’s wonderful about the long hairs is you can get them shaved and you need too. Shaved, they are a much easier cat to handle. Girly and my male Himalayan need to be shaved soon.
      Have a lovely Sunday!

  2. This has got to be at the top of all things adorable! OMG! She is beautiful. I have never seen a cat lay on their back like that, and I’ve had many cats. She is definitely your side-kick…isn’t it wonderful to be loved and needed like that? I am so jealous. Mister is horribly allergic if he gets too near cats, even with his allergy shots. Problem is, he loves all animals and if they are near he’ll love on them, then suffers for it, poor thing. We’ve been talking about getting a small doggie that does minimal shedding as our house needs a sweet little pet to feel right to us. We love the maltipoo breed, especially when they’re clipped somewhat short….so precious!

    • Hi Bobbi! I do agree pets make a home happy. My kids love our cats and one of my sons is allergic to them. He suffers more when his seasonal allergies kick in…usually around April/May. I do remind him to keep the cats out of his room then. They seem to like his room the best…he’s in the attic of the home or should I say loft. He has the largest room of the house and it’s very warm up there.
A little dog sounds wonderful! I hope you are able to find one that works for you and your husband. Thanks for liking my Girly! She’s with me right now as I type back to you.
      Have a lovely Sunday!
      LuAnn 😉

    • Thanks Susan for visiting today. Aren’t cats funny? Girly is always on her back like an otter or curled up on my desk under the light. She’s here right now as I type to you. My little mascot!
      Have a lovely Sunday!

  3. I have two calico cats. The younger, Lucy (we call her Lucifer because she is a devil) lies that too. She is on her back with her two paws together. I have had cats my whole life and NEVER saw one lie down like that. She is a pip. Girly is beautiful.

    • Thanks Patty for your visit today. Cats are very unique animals for sure…just a few hours ago Girly was running back and forth in my kitchen growling at nothing. Lol Now she is asleep on my desk. Funny how they keep you smiling.
      Happy Sunday!
      LuAnn 😉

    • Hi Candace! My Girly goes to others in my home. She will sleep on my husband legs if he’s next to me and only if he’s wearing jeans. She also loves to go in my son’s room in the attic…it’s finished and very warm. She let’s other hold her and loves the attention, but I’m definitely her favorite and the one she follows around. Thanks for visiting today!
      Happy Sunday!
      LuAnn 😉

  4. Girly is a sweetie! Our little Abby is my shadow and lap-sitter until she squirrels herself away in my craft room closet for her longest nap of the day. Abby always knows when I’ve just removed things from the dryer and likes to hop into the dryer and lay down!

    • Hi Carol! Girly hops in the dryer too…sometimes I walk away and leave the door open with warm clothes inside, when I return there she is nice and comfy. I feel bad when I take her out though…that’s when I warm up a towel for her to sleep on. Sometimes I wish I was a cat. Lol
      Have a lovely week!
      LuAnn 😉

    • Thank you Wilma for the lovely comment and for visiting my post. Girly is a beautiful and sweet cat. Thank you too for liking my blog! Hope to hear from you again soon.
Have a lovely weekend and a Happy Valentine’s Day!

  5. I love Girlie! She’s too precious! I have a Snowshoe Siamese, a boy named Coco! He’s in my office bugging me right now! Doesn’t want me in here, so he’s screaming away! Wants me to go to the kitchen to give him a treat – but here’s the conundrum: he has lots of food and treats already in many different bowls! So spoiled…but I love him! Stopping by from Wordless Wednesday!

    • Hi Carole! Thank you for your lovely comment about Girly! She is very precious to me…I had two small female Seal Point Siamese when I was a little girl. They were both great cats. They were Honey and her granddaughter Tammy. It’s funny, Girly is just like Tammy! I often wonder if Tammy was reincarnated in Girly and I found her again. Girly is asleep on my desk right now under the light as usual.
Have a lovely weekend and a Happy Valentine’s Day!
      LuAnn 😉

    • Thank you April for the lovely comment about Girly…Actually her name is April! She was born on April Fools Day and we thought that April would be very fitting. We just enjoy calling her Girly because she is so small and dainty…and well, girly!
Have a lovely weekend and a Happy Valentine’s Day!

  6. Hi Lovely lady, your story of Girly is darling, reminds me of our cat Sabrina, she does many of the similar things, finding the warm cushion when I leave, by my side or on me when I watch TV, they are such great little companions just looking for a little love.! Happy Valentines!
Thanks for visiting to share your blog on Friday Features!
    Karren 😉

  7. Hello beautiful! Fun post. Pinned and tweeted. Thank you for being a part of our party and we hope to see you on Monday at 7 pm. We can’t wait to party with you! Happy Valentines’ Day! Lou Lou Girls

  8. Girly is a doll and she stole my heart! Don’t blame her for wanting to snuggle up where it’s warm! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
    Jann

  9. What a lovely cat. I have a Siamese named Valli. I always think, “entitled” and “demanding” are two words which should never be used to describe your pet . . . but I’d be lost without her! And how adorable Girly will sleep on her back. In many years of owning cats, I’ve only had one that did. Judy
