A Few Spring Touches in the Family Room

Tomorrow is the first day of Spring, can you believe it’s finally here! Guess what we’re getting? That’s right, a snow storm tomorrow tonight into Saturday and I thought the snow was all done. Oh well! I wanted to celebrate the arrival of Spring by sharing my Spring touches in the family room. At least it’s not going to snow in there.

On my coffee table I’ve set up my terrarium with a hint of Spring. I decorated it with a pretty nest and some wild wax flowers. I used these flowers in the terrarium with my Manger design at Christmas time. Click here to see my “Manger in the Terrarium” post. It’s nice how you can use some of the same flowers for different seasons.

The king of our castle is laying on his throne in the back ground. He’s our older Himalayan. We call him “Big Fluff”. He loves spending most of his day right there on the sofa. He’ll even get to enjoy the afternoon sun without changing his spot. Lucky him!
A little bird is peeking out from the terrarium. It adds some whimsey to the design.

These adorable birds are so pretty perched on the branches around their nest. I’ve placed a decorative faux nest on top of the figurine’s nest to make the display a bit more attractive.

I created a Spring vignette on top of the desk in the family room. I wanted a clean and simple design. The bird’s nest with dried flowers add a pinch of color to the display. I love the antique feel you get from dried flowers.

I hope you enjoyed “A Few Spring Touches in the Family Room” post!

    1. Hi Rue! Thank you for your visit and for your comment! It’s still snowing while I’m writing you. There’s about 5″ or so where we are in CT. It’s pretty! Looks like a Winter Wonderland and not Spring at all. Oh well, at least this time of year it melts away pretty fast. More water for a pretty Spring I say.
      Happy weekend!
