Creating Simply Lovely Pillows

Lovely Pillows
I’ve taken a small break from posting this past week and I’m back with more design ideas for you to enjoy.
Today I would like to share my embellished pillows with you.
I’m always designing somewhere in the house with pillows. Pillows are my number one “go to” for easy decorating. My philosophy is, the more the better when it comes to pillows. They add texture, color, balance and interest to a space, as well as warmth.

Lovely Pillows

I’m sharing the pillows I had purchased at a popular home decorating store awhile ago. They were a little plain and I wanted to make them more charming.
Lovely Pillows

I found this chandelier stencil and decided to paint the pillows with the design.
Lovely Pillows

It was very easy to do with the right tools. I taped the stencil onto the pillow and painted the chandelier image with sponge pouncers. I had a few different sizes to use that made the job very easy. I mixed white and cream colored acrylic paint together and took my time applying (dabbing) the paint, being careful not to have it bleed under the stencil.

The process went pretty quick and the image looked great on the pillow. I touched it up with more of the white acrylic paint using a small size paint brush.

I wanted to embellish the pillows a bit more and sewed on (tacked) crystal beaded chandelier chain for a realistic effect and prettier appearance.

It worked perfectly!

The pillows are now lovely and very charming!

Now, where to place them?
Lovely Pillows

I found the perfect place for one of them in my front foyer. I used one of the armed chairs from the dining room in the foyer and placed the chandelier pillow on it to make it more decorative. Perfect!

The other chandelier pillow is on another armed dining room chair, actually in the dining room. The two spaces are right off of each other in my home and the pillows with the chandelier theme fits flawlessly.

A little bling in ones environment can never hurt.
