I wanted a light look for summer on my dining room table. I stacked my pretty lace design dishes at various heights along with other utilitarian items. Though the dining room is barely used this time of the year, it’s completely visible from the other rooms in my home and I like having it decorated for the current season. I wanted the table vignette to reflect the seasonal decor as well. I thought a white theme would give a light and airy look to the room. You can’t go wrong with using whites.
One trick to a good table vignette is stacking items at different heights. This adds interest to the design or display and keeps it from looking boring. I chose to stack the dishes on these lovely square shaped cake stands. I like how the stands allow you to gather the elements in the display closely together while keeping them elevated.
An antique white terracotta lantern takes center stage and casts a pretty warm glow from the faux candle flickering inside. I love using the new faux candles with the realistic flickering flame. Their timed flame goes on each night and casts a lovely glimmering light around the room. They create a very comforting and welcoming feeling.
I hope you enjoyed my “Pretty Whites for Summertime Dining” post!

I would like to take this time to have a proud mommy moment with you. My son, Joseph, had the leading role in his middle school play this past weekend. He was Charlie Brown in a revised version of the Broadway Play “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”. He did a wonderful job and I couldn’t be happier!
