Bird Inspired Summer Tablescape

Summer Tablescape 2015

I created a summer tablescape inspired by the lovely birds I see and feed outside my door. I love the sight and sounds of birds. We have a few feeders that are visited by different varieties of small birds, chipmunks and squirrels. Lol

My design creation started with this lovely birdhouse shape lantern. It’s blue green color fits in beautifully with my kitchen cabinets.

The other small touches to the design on the table add texture, depth and interest, as well as function.

Stacked square plates give height to the items on top of them. I placed my bird salt and pepper shakers on these small square tidbit plates and a cloche on the larger square plates with a small hydrangea plant underneath.

Blue green and bright green straws fill a galvanized cup. It’s nestled in a cute wire basket holding two glass milk bottles. A white flatware set for the table is collected in a glass apothecary jar ready to use.

This glass cloche has a bird nesting on top of it. It fits in with my bird theme perfectly!

Hydrangeas from my garden are a bit young, but still look pretty in the white pitcher a chose for them.

  2. Another birdie friend here. We feed anything that wanders by, and have “raised” a bunch of babies this year!!! The babies don’t fear us in the least, I can walk right up to the woodpecker babies and they just look at me like they can’t figure out why I don’t have a red “hat”!!
Your tablescape is beautiful! I love seeing all of the pretty things that you make up!!!
Blessings to you, and happy weekend!

    • Thanks J! To are too funny about your baby birds. We have quite a few woodpeckers here too. It’s funny how loud they get when I’m filling the feeders. I love it!
