Autumn in August – 7 Ways to Use Pumpkins in Your Decor

Autumn in August
Ok, I know it’s a wee bit early, but Autumn is just around the corner. In about a month and a half it will be at our door step. I love the change from Summer to Autumn. I can’t help loving this season, I’m an Autumn baby! I would like to share seven ideas of using pumpkins in your decor this Autumn. Putting together these ideas now will make it easier to create them later. Don’t be afraid to change things up. I like to create different displays or vignettes from year to year. Make it fun and fresh!

1. PUMPKINS ON A MANTEL
Fall 2014 If you are fortunate to have a fireplace you can decorate it with various size pumpkins. I used a swag that fit perfectly on top of my fireplace mantel. It was filled with pumpkins of course, along with gourds, green and brown pears, leaves, pinecones and berries. Bows helped to finish the look and gave the design an elegant country feel. Fall 2014

2. PUMPKINS ON A WALL TABLE OR ELECTRIC FIREPLACE
Fall 2014 I used a vine garland on my electric fireplace in my dining room. It’s twiggy elements are great for a natural Autumn look. It’s filled with pumpkins, gourds and plenty of leaves. There are also pinecones, berries, green and gold pears, green pomegranates and small white pumpkins. The large white sunflowers have glitter on them. They gave the display a slight sparkle.

3. PUMPKINS IN A FLOWER BOX
Fall 2014
Green and white pumpkins and gourds fill in the flower box nicely. Around them I have placed creamy white Sunflowers along with white Black Eyed Susan. Pinecones, berries and ivy fills in the design nicely for a lovely Autumn display on my kitchen table.

4. PUMPKINS IN A TERRARIUM
Fall 2014
In my family room I had put together a pumpkin vignette on the coffee table. I filled my terrarium with various pumpkins and dressed it further with sunflowers and colorful leaves. I had the arrangement spilling out on the table. It made the design more interesting and unexpected.

5. PUMPKINS IN A WALL PLANTER
Fall 2014
This bird wall planter is filled to the brim with Baby Bear, Jack Be Little and Munchkin pumpkins. I had tied brown and white polka dot ribbon to their stems. It’s simply cute!

6. PUMPKINS IN A BIRD BATH
Fall 2014
Flat style pumpkins were stacked on top of this bird bath found in my front garden. I wrapped two leaf and berry garlands around them for a bright fun look. The flat style pumpkins made it easy to stack them. What a pretty and colorful Autumn display this creates. It’s so simple yet looks lovely.

7. PUMPKINS IN A FLOWER ARRANGEMENT
Fall 2014
A colorful flower arrangement is flowing out of a pretty ceramic pumpkin tureen. This is a very popular way to display pumpkins lately. On top of a black stand it added a perfect accent to the cabinet in my foyer.
