Autumn in August – 9 Autumn Ideas Using Florals

Autumn in August 2

The colors of Autumn are beautiful and vibrant! They are such a lovely pick-me-up throughout the season and what better way to enjoy them than through flowers. I would like to share my 9 Autumn ideas using florals with you this week in my Autumn in August series.

1. This teapot floral arrangement is a quintessential example of Autumn’s lovely mix of colors. The colors of the Roses and Daisies in this display worked wonderful together and complimented each other perfectly.

2. The coral pink Roses in this arrangement blended in nicely with the small framed art work and window treatment. Together the colors in the vignette created a warm and inviting feeling for Autumn on my kitchen bay window.

3. These Staffordshire dogs are a perfect Autumn color and harmonized with the display in my foyer. I filled an Ivy arrangement with craft paper pumpkins. The presentation looks like a rustic pumpkin bush! Autumn Florals

4. At the bottom of my stairs are my lanterns and fern plant. I had placed wicker pumpkins around them. A large bow on the lantern was decorated with Autumn foliage and flowers.Autumn Florals

5. This wreath on my front door was loaded with wonderful orange Sunflowers. The neutral colors of the leaves, artichokes, berries and burlap bow really says Autumn.

6. Chrysanthemums are a marvelously full and colorful flowering plant to decorate with during Autumn. You can’t go wrong with them! There are so many varieties and colors to pick from. I love the contrast of colors I created here. When you see them you can’t help but smile.

7. Beaded pumpkins filled a small white bench in this vignette on my front porch next to more colorful Chrysanthemums.Autumn Florals

8. On my back porch/deck I had decorated an old bench with a small Autumn vignette. The colorful Mums contrasted nicely against the stacked pumpkins. Small pumpkins and gourds filled in the empty spaces for nice design continuity. The lanterns added a bit of interest and a warm glow at night.

9. I had filled an apothecary jar with very small beaded pumpkins and placed it on the table in back of my white owl. There’s a small lantern with a faux candle and a few colorful leaves in it. The tall pumpkin and white Sunflowers finished the look on the table and made it pretty.Autumn Florals

  2. These are lovely fall designs. Until just now i hadn’t really thought about decorating for fall- I am hanging on to summer as long as I can, but I love fall too.

  3. Summer came so late to the Chicago area, I’m not ready to let it go. But all Fall postings are making me itchy to do Fall, but I’m going to grit my teeth and hold off until after Labor Day. Thanks for the gorgeous inspirations, though!

    • Hi Sandi! I’m not letting go to Summer quite yet here in CT…It came late here too! I started my Autumn decorating in only a few rooms for now, there will be many more ideas to share this Autumn season.

  4. Autumn is my favorite time of year, but I am not ready to let go of summer just yet. Your fall decorating is gorgeous however, and I must admit, it did put me in the mood to get ready for the change in seasons. I especially love your wreath and tea pot floral arrangement.

    • Hi Dorene! Thank you for your lovely comments. I’m happy you enjoyed my post. I’m still in summer mode in some of the rooms in my home. I’m posting on a country centerpiece for my kitchen on Friday that’s not quite Autumn…It’s more late Summer… Though, this year I have a lot more ideas to share for Autumn. Stop back to see them!

  5. Lu Ann, your arrangements are ALWAYS so beautiful! I feel happy just looking at them. Although I love something about every season I do get extra excited fall through Xmas. The fall colors are so warm and cozy feeling and the weather so perfect. I love to decorate the house for the holidays and that period allows for lots of ideas. I was traveling last week but I just have to let you know that your new living room lanterns look so nice, and that picture between them has always been one of my all time favorites…so warm and inviting and just bespeaks “home”. Hugs.

    • Thanks Bobbi! I agree that Autumn through Christmas is the most fun and exciting to decorate for. It’s the easiest also with so many things you can pick and choose from. I’m happy you enjoyed my lanterns…I really like the way they look in the room. I’m excited that I can even decorate them for the holidays! It’s so nice to hear from you.
Have a lovely Friday and weekend! Hugs back!

  7. Hi LuAnn! Fabulous fall inspriation – you really have a knack for putting things together. I am so ready to get started bringing fall into my house and yard, but it is supposed to be near 90 this week, so I am showing some restraint, lol. Have a wonderful week. Jane
