Autumn Pillows

Autumn Pillows
Pillows are a staple in my designs and the more the better is my motto. Pillows make any room feel cozy, warm and charming. A splash of color or texture in your decor can be easily achieved through pillows.
Today I’m sharing the Autumn embellished pillows I created for my living room.
I started with two pillows I found on sale at a popular home decor store. I liked the stitching detail on the edges of the pillows and thought it would work perfectly with the Autumn embellishment I had in mind.

A creamy white and glittering green paint were my color choices for this Autumn design.

The pumpkin stencil design fit nicely in the middle of the pillows. The size and shape of the stencil was just the right fit.

I sewed on a sweet and simple raffia bow to the top pumpkin for a rustic feel.

White sunflowers brighten up the bottom portion of the pillows. I sewed them on as well to make sure they stay secure.

It’s fun to take a plain pillow and embellish it with elements of a particular season. You can use just about anything as long as it’s soft to the touch and strong enough to get tossed around. Sewing the items on will insure their security. Sometimes the fabric glues don’t hold as nicely or look as good. It’s easy to tack stitch an embellishment on using long needles. It makes the job easier.

A once plain pillow is now made charming and adds some excitement and warmth to the living room.
