A Welcoming Season

A Welcoming Season

I like my front porch decorated for the seasons, especially during Autumn. Autumn is filled with such warm and inviting colors and textures. So, why not display them on your front porch with the use of florals, pillows and my favorite, wreaths? A welcoming porch has decorating elements that conveys a message to your guests that you care about them and your home. It tells them that they are welcomed to join you in your house.

A wreath can brighten up your front door and the area around it. It creates such a welcoming entryway. I like to think that the wreath you select or make is kind of your personal signature on your house.

For my Autumn entryway I used these metal spheres on my urns and filled them with Autumn florals and vines. Directly in the middle of them I placed faux candles with timers. At night the glow from the candles among the Autumn elements look magical.

A monogram banner hangs off this chalk board sign. It’s pretty Autumn colors adds another layer and interest to the overall design.

These colorful Chrysanthemums add fullness and splendor around the front door. It wouldn’t be Autumn without them.

I used the same monogram pillows from my summer porch for my Autumn porch. See my Summer on the Porch post. I changed out the pink pillows for orange ones. The contrast between the beige and the orange creates a lovely soft Autumn design.

  1. LuAnn, your porch looks amazing! The metal spheres are such a great look, and I love the faux candle idea…leave it to you to add that special touch. Everything about your porch says WELCOME. Our Autumn color is quickly leaving us here in southeastern PA. I love this season so, and one year seems a long time to wait for it’s return…more so now that I’m 65 and wish to hold on to everything more than ever.

    • Thank you Bobbi! It is so sad that the Autumn color is almost gone. Heavy winds here the other day blew most of them down. The oak trees still have a lot though. It’s getting colder and colder now. I’m not outside as much now. There is nothing wrong with wanting to hold on to everything. It our human nature.
      Have a lovely weekend!
      LuAnn 😉

  2. Awww LuAnn what a beautiful porch, you are right autumn/fall just does not last long enough and you have created the most welcoming porch, so many pretty things, I love the Urns with all the decorations, the wire balls are really nifty way to hold all the decorations inside. But the first thing that caught my eye was the black and white checked bow on your door wreath, I love it!!!

I hope you get to enjoy Autumn a little longer in your neck of the woods.
    Have a great weekend!
    Karren 🙂
