We gather together to sing the Lord’s praises
To worship the Father through Jesus, His Son.
In this celebration
All sing with jubilation.
We are His holy people whose freedom He won.
We greet our Lord present within this assembly
To hear His good news announced clearly to all.
Our priest is presiding
In Christ we are abiding
As we invoke God’s blessing and answer His call.
This is the beloved hymn I learned as a child and sung many times in my church. It is a hymn that is particularly sung around and on Thanksgiving Day. It’s lyrics, though changed from the original, are very fitting for Thanksgiving Day.
Today, we will gather together at our dining room table, to honor and give thanks to God for all his blessings and unending graces bestowed on us and to share a meal with the ones we love.
I would like to share my table with you today. I left the pumpkin centerpiece I designed earlier this Autumn on the table and combined other elements around it. I decided to use a turkey figurine in the middle of the centerpiece and propped it upon a clear stand to make it taller among the tea light holders.
The napkins carry the green and cream neutral theme that’s going on in the centerpiece. They have some yellow and red in them that gives the design a splash of color. I combined the flatware and the napkins together with the use of pretty green flower napkin rings.
The table design has a flurry of elements that create an inviting warmness.
I wanted to keep with a Thanksgiving theme on the table and used two sets of turkey salt and pepper shakers. They are both functional and decorative.
For a little more color, I used tea light holders with red candles along with yellowy peach and red orange roses arranged in cute turkey serving bowls.
I wish everyone a very lovely and Happy Thanksgiving!
