Happy Winter! It seems after Christmas the Winter blues can start to creep in. The shortened days, bare trees and cold weather here in CT grows old and we long for lovely warm spring days. Though, this year the weather here has been warmer than usual, we still can’t wait to see colorful flowers blooming, green trees and longer days.
I thought I would put together an arrangement that depicts the blue feeling of Winter, but in a lovely way.
These pretty blue flowers are actually from my daughter’s baby shower I had for her this past Sunday. Jennifer is expecting a boy (our first grandchild) in February. Her due date is on the 14th. He might be a Valentine’s Day baby! Though, I think she might go sooner than that. Maybe Groundhog Day instead. If he doesn’t see his shadow…lol.
I wanted to share the floral arrangement with you and decided to call it appropriately, “The Winter Blues”. Jennifer actually thought up the title.
The mix of blue flowers contrast beautifully in the cream color tea pot and wood tray. I added a few snowflake ornaments to the design to give it a almost frosty appearance.
I placed a few pine greens on the bottom of the tray along with cups and a pitcher and created a Winter blues tea theme.
It’s so lovely how flowers, even blue ones, can actually brighten a dreary winter day.
I hope you enjoyed “The Winter Blues” post!

This table décor sure lifts the winter blues! You always seem to find ways to repurpose things. Congratulations! Know you are over the moon about having a Grandbaby. Our first one, Dylan Cooper, turned two this past Nov., and our Granddaughter is due Feb. 16th. (also her Mama’s birthday). You and I have much to be excited about….yippeeeee!
Thanks Bobbi! I am very excited about our Grandson! Jennifer’s doctor is going to induce her on the 8th and not let her go to the 14th, but I think she might go any day. I’m praying for her. How exciting that we both are expecting a Grandbaby around the same time! Yippeeeee is right!
Prayers and blessings for the new mothers and for happy and healthy Grandbabies!

PS I’m sorry I’m so late in replying back…I was very busy last week with my son Joe. He had a lead part in his middle school play and I was very busy helping out at the school.
I like the arrangement ! Winter Blues! Cute! Congrats on fist grandson! I have two and love it
Thanks Cindy! As we get closer to her date I’m getting very excited! Hard to believe my first born is having a baby and maybe any day now! Can’t wait to meet my Grandson!
Thank you for your lovely comments!

Your take on winter decorating is beautiful! I recently read a funny meme that said Christmas is a wonderful time of year with all the lights and colors, then January comes around it’s a big bucket of cold snowy suck. Ha, ha! It had this pitiful snowman on it with kids looking all glum and sad. You definitely put the cheer and color in your home. I’m always a fan of keeping pine greenery out and mixing it with pops of color. This is very pretty.
