Lovely Hanging Flowers

Lovely Hanging Flowers

While grocery shopping a few days ago, I found these lovely flowers and couldn’t resist purchasing them. I needed something to brighten up that cold and cloudy day. These flowers did the trick.  I brought them home and placed them in my laundry room sink. I filled it with cool water and let the bunches of pretty petals rest while I looked for the right container to put them in.

I wanted something different for this bunch of blooms, but what would work? Looking around the house I spotted a wicker basket. It was hanging in the kitchen on one of the handles of my french doors that lead into the foyer. I used it to hold the Christmas cards I received during the holiday.  That was it, hanging flowers! I could create a floral arrangement in the basket and hang it on the door.  I just needed to find a container or containers to place in the thin basket that would hold water and the flowers. I thought two tall beer glasses would do the trick.

The glasses were a perfect fit and made arranging the flowers easy.

I hung the flower basket arrangement on the set of french doors that go into the family room from the kitchen. It looked very pretty and bright behind the kitchen table.

I love, love, love the peach and cream tones of the roses. They look so delightful and lovely mixed with the green tones of the other florals. Though pink roses are my very favorite, peach and cream are the next in line.

I adore having bunches of fresh flowers around the house especially during the cold and snowy winter months. It’s a wonderful way to uplift any room.

  1. I love your sweet little basket of pretty flowers, that certainly would brighten up the gloomiest of days. We ended up with about 2 ft. of snow and up to 5 ft. drifts….couldn’t get out two of our doors, but we never lost power, thankfully. Then, Sunday came in sunny and bright after all the howling and swirling on Sat. I’m just glad we didn’t have an ice storm…they are the worst.

    1. Hi Bobbi! I’m delighted you enjoyed my flower basket. Glad to hear you kept your power. We received about 8 inches or so. We were lucky this time. It was very pretty on Sunday with the sun shining through the snow. Very bright! I’m glad we didn’t have an ice storm too.
      Have a lovely week!
