Today I’m sharing the floral design I created on my living room mantel. I love how layering creates a full elegant look. I started with a rose hip garland that I’ve used before and added beautiful peonies and roses. Perfect for a pretty summer display that can be easily changed to an autumn display.
I centered a topiary first then built the florals around it. I wanted the garland to cascade in the middle of the mantel so that the mantel shelf would appear deeper than it is.
Pretty shades of peach and pink add a perfect amount of color to the white peony flowers. They complement the peach tone drapery in the room.
I’m such a floral lover. Peony and roses are one of my all time favorites. They are so easily worked into a design and give a lovely romantic look to anything. They make you feel so welcomed and can certainly lift you up when you are feeling down. I feel they are one of God’s most perfect flowers.
On the coffee table in the room sits a rustic lantern. I placed a rose hip wreath around the lantern along with more of the peonies and roses used on the fireplace mantel. I wanted to match the look of the mantel on the table to create continuity in my design.
With autumn just around the corner, I can easily take out the topiary and some of the peonies while leaving the roses and adding some small white pumpkins to the floral display.
I hope you enjoyed my “Lovely Peonies and Roses” post!
