It’s Christmas weekend and I wanted to share a little Christmas in my kitchen. I enjoy using lanterns in my designs, especially during Christmas. Their lovely glow creates such a warmth around the home. When the lights are turned off the lanterns give an appearance of what life must have been like in times past. Their subtleness can make a room feel soothing and romantic.
Over the sink I have a white rustic lantern with some plants that I purchased during the summer. I just added a sparkling white Christmas tree with a few glass ornaments to the vignette for a quick and simple holiday look.
I hung a cedar pine garland over the bay window to make it a little more festive in my kitchen. I like the cedar pine’s soft and wispy appearance. It’s a lovely garland choice if you want a lighter design.
On my kitchen table is another white lantern with more matching ornaments and sparkling white trees. I like to match the items used in a particular room to keep the design in the room cohesive. Mini cedar pine wreaths on charger plates make the table more interesting. I like the wintery look they create.

Did you use real candles?
I have a few lanterns that I use around the house with luminary candles. I love the timer feature.
Love your nice deep windowsill over the sink. It has endless possibilities.
Merry Christmas

Hi Susan! I use the same luminary candles with the remote. I like to turn them on early during dark days. My window sill is very deep and has seen many designs.
Happy Christmastide,
