I have needed two decorative elements to flank the painting above my sofa ever since I hung it. I have played with quite a few items, but was never happy with them. The wall in my living room is rather long and high (ten feet to be exact) and it needed items that were substantial in size.
I have had these two oval mirrors up for awhile, but they were rather small for the space. Though they are very pretty, I wanted to change them. After a few years, I finally found what I needed. Wall Lanterns!
These wall lanterns were the perfect choice! Their size and shape worked perfectly in the room’s design.
I like their rustic nature. Even though the room is more formal, I like how the lantern’s country charm tones down the traditional feel. This contrast between the design elements in the room work together quite nicely making the room very homey.
I used timed flameless candles in the lanterns with a flickering flame that looks very realistic. Dried hydrangeas dress up around the candles just a bit for more interest.
These lanterns match the one on the my coffee table. I like to carry the look around the room as much I can so the design looks intensional and not just placed.
I hope you enjoyed my “Lovely Lanterns for the Living Room Wall” post!
