What’s a Fall-ish feeling? Well, when I think of Fall, all of my senses are involved! I envision the wonderfully bright colors from changing trees and blooming mums. I get lost in the aroma of cinnamon spice. I hear the wind rustling through the leaves that had fallen on the ground. I feel that cuddly and cozy sensation from warm blankets on cool nights, either outside on the back porch swing or inside, in front of a roaring fire. I sip a cup of hot cocoa, while enjoying a warm slice of apple pie. A Fall-ish feeling is not only about my senses though, it’s also a thankful, remembering, sentimental and beautiful feeling of pulling everyone close and showing how much you care about them. It’s a grateful to God feeling!
On my back porch/deck I feel I created a bit of my Fall-ish feeling. I decorated an old bench with a small Fall vignette. The colorful mums contrast nicely against the stacked pumpkins. Small pumpkins and gourds fill in the empty spaces for design continuity. The lanterns add a bit of interest and a warm glow at night.
On my swing I have a wool tartan plaid blanket that compliments everything else going on around it. The Fall pillows add to the effect of the design and with the blanket, soften the look of the swing. I wanted to create a comfy and cozy feeling.
I hope you enjoyed A Fall-ish Feeling!
