It’s definitely feeling like Autumn here in Connecticut. The weather has been cold, windy and rainy for the past few days. Yuck! Being that I’m stuck inside today, I thought I would create a little Autumn display on my kitchen island and share it with you.
I put together a few Autumn items that would work well in the kitchen. I wanted it to be functional and decorative at the same time.
I’ve nestled my chicken tureen in nicely with the other tureens on the island counter. The pumpkin tureen is filled with festive pumpkins and gourds. I made it look like I’m ready to serve up pumpkin and gourd soup with the ladle. I wanted to create an artistic view with the elements I used. You don’t have to make everything utilitarian in a design. I wanted it to look pretty and fun along with it’s functionality. I have the other tureen filled with chocolate chip, sugar and frosted sugar cookies.
I placed tea light candles (cinnamon of course) in canning jars for a warm lovely glow. I love the scent of cinnamon this time of year! It fills my kitchen with a wonderful aroma that lingers into the other rooms nicely. Small leaf snack bowls add a sweet touch to the display. I love how they fit in!
An apothecary jar is filled with oatmeal raisin cookies and the pumpkin cookie jar is filled with what else, peanut butter cookies! My display/vignette has a sugary theme going on if you haven’t noticed.;)
A simple bow is tied onto this carafe and filled with apple cider from our local orchard. It is ready to be served in these cute dairy bottles. I dressed the bottles and the pumpkin cookie jar up with some twine, so to make the design feel more Autumn-ish.
I hope you enjoyed my Autumn Island Display today and I inspired you with more of my Autumn Decor!
