I wanted to share some of my Autumn decor I designed this season in my home before I change it at the end of the week for Christmas. I wanted a pretty and soft feel to the season and used a lovely pastel pallet of autumn colors to do so. I decided to focus on the lanterns in my dining room and kitchen and how I decorated them.
Dahlias are another favorite flower of mine next to hydrangeas, roses and peonies. I like the fullness of their flowers and the different sizes and colors they come in. Though its more a summer flower, I love how the colors of these faux dahlias work perfectly for an autumn display and around my lantern.
On the top of the cabinet in the dining room I placed two green pumpkins for a simple arrangement.
I followed the same theme of my table on the mantel of the fireplace in the dining room. I wanted a sort of sweeping appearance of the flowers around the lantern, thus creating a pretty autumn flowery display.
On the kitchen table is yet another lantern with a faux rose hip garland wrapped around it. I placed small white pumpkins on top of the garland to create an autumn feel to the look.
During early summer I had the wall paper taken down in my kitchen. I find the new look less busy and brighter. I’ll post pictures of the kitchen soon when it’s decorated for Christmas.
I hope you enjoyed my “Autumn Lanterns” post today!
