I’m sharing the Autumn centerpiece I created in my dining room this year. I wanted it to be simply elegant. I used green and white pumpkins in my Autumn display to do just that.
Autumn decorating doesn’t have to be bright colors. You can design an Autumn display with subdued tones that still gives an Autumn impression. The effect is soft and tasteful.
Many years back I bought these tea light candle holders and thought they resembled very large martini glasses. I have two sets, both of which have three different height holders. I decided to pull them out of my closet and use them as pumpkin holders this season. I spread a lovely cream colored scarf around the stems of the candle holders. It gives the Autumn Table more depth and interest and makes the design pretty.
I wanted to use tea light candles in the display, but real candles wouldn’t work under faux or real pumpkins. I decided to use flameless timed tea light candles and they worked perfectly! Now, I’m not going through real candles and the flameless ones go on everyday at the same time. The flameless candles cast a lovely glow from under the pumpkins. The look is unexpected and fitting for Autumn.
Any design isn’t totally finished until you add some accessories. In my Autumn dining room display I embellished the candle holders by tucking in some light and airy Autumn foliage under the pumpkins, as well as some hanging crystals. The accessories give the design a fullness and a little Autumn splendor.
