Sometimes you want to soften things up and that’s just what I’ve done with my Christmas decor this year.
I chose to use pretty pinks, tans, gold, silver and white Christmas ornaments.
I was hoping for a subdued look that would go along with the softness of my new flocked fraser fir tree.
Wanting nothing to fancy this year or over the top, I kept my design easy and simplistic. No garlands or bows, just a pretty assortment of glass ornaments, some of them mercury glass.
On my mantel I placed three mercury glass trees and nestled the rose hip garland that was already on the mantel around them.
I kept faux white peonies I also had on the mantel, but added more to this arrangement to make it fuller.
It’s hard to see in the photo, but I placed flickering faux candles under the trees. They look beautiful at night when the room is dark. I love how they cast a pleasant warm golden glow.
I used these angels and the baby Jesus last year on my tree. This time I displayed them on the piano.
I placed the Baby Jesus on top of a small flocked wreath I had left over. I thought it was a perfect place for Him. It gave a just-the-right finishing touch to the vignette.
