A Winter Mantel Display

A Winter Mantel Display

I find the house sad after you put away the Christmas decor. It was so festive and decorated when it was up, but now it can be rather bare and uninspiring. So…I decided to keep some of the items used for Christmas out. I wanted to create winter displays with them here and there around the house.

A Winter Mantel

On the mantel in the living room I left holly greens with berries along with the winter birds and bird cage candle holders. I love how the candles glow at night in the room. They give the display a romantic feel, especially now it’s winter.

I switched the yellow/gold stars I had on the mantel with these snowflake ornaments. I like the brightness of the snowflakes in the design.

I placed beige toned hydrangeas towards the back of the bird cages. I like how they blend with the dried green hydrangeas I already had there. The florals give the winter display a soft appearance.

The bird theme I had used during Christmas is carried on into winter. The birds create a friendly and welcoming feeling on the mantel.

I didn’t have to change much in the design on the mantel from Christmas, but with only a few switches and additions to the look, the display has transformed into a lovely winter display.
