Today I’m sharing my secret garden. Well, my secret garden isn’t a secret any more, but it never really was. When my children were small they would play in the backyard where our settler’s wall or New England stone wall is. There was a small area around the wall they would call “The Secret Garden”, probably because it sat perfectly within the wall. Through the years I have cleared it and planted various shade loving plants and flowers. It’s now a quaint spot where I have my white Victorian table and chair set. It’s a real garden to relax in. It’s my secret shade garden and now decorated for fall.
Over the table I hung a tea light chandelier off of a tree branch. The piece was inexpensive and I didn’t mind leaving it outside in all the elements. It fits wonderfully in the area and makes the spot almost magical, especially when there are lit tea light candles on it.
Three small pumpkins are propped on top of the candle holders. They make the small chandelier fall festive and stand out in the backyard.
I love Chrysanthemums and these yellow and rustic orange ones are delightful. I especially enjoy the yellow one. The shape of it’s flowers are very daisy like. It’s just beautiful!
These pumpkins sit perfectly on the chandelier and together with the small crystals make it more wonderful and unexpected.
I love how the crystals sparkle when the sun shines on them. It creates a lovely sight in the garden.
I placed only a few fall flowers and pumpkins in the design, but less is more sometimes. I feel you don’t always need a lot of decor touches to make an area beautiful. A lot of beauty can be found in just the little touches.
I hope you enjoyed my “Fall into a Secret Garden” post!
