I created a Valentine display on the mantel of my electric fireplace in the dining room. I was so excited moving the fireplace into the dining room back in 2014 when I completed the renovation of the room. It fit perfectly in a space between two windows and is a wonderful accent piece that’s fun to decorate all year long.
Though we don’t use the dining room as much as I would like, I do decorate it for the different seasons and holidays. Having the fireplace is not only romantic, but also functional in warming up the room.
I found a few pieces at a favorite home decor store to help me decorate the mantel. The heart shaped rose buds in a box are actually wall hangings. I decided to stack them one on the other to make my display more interesting.
I love how the scalloped window clip frame fits ideally into the design. I find the tiny clothes pins hanging on the strings adorable. I hung a red twine wrapped heart on one of the strings along with a mini vine wreath. I took three more of the twine hearts and unwrapped them to find a metal frame underneath. I wound faux greenery around the metal hearts to create small heart shaped topiaries and hung them on the clip frame as well.
I changed the ribbon that came on the vine wreath to the black check ribbon I used in other Valentine vignettes around the house. Now that its decorated for Valentine’s Day, I can’t wait to decorate the dining room for Easter. I’ll use the clip frame again, but give it an Easter twist.
