Even though I’m taking down my Christmas decor in a few days, I wanted to share with you my dining room table-scape that I designed for Christmas. I left the Peony planter arrangement that I have been using all year on the table and incorporated it into my Christmas/Winter table decor. I filled the planter with realistic faux peonies that I have found from various sources throughout the years. When ever I find a store that carries realistic faux peonies, I try to purchase a few to add to my collection. I do love using real peonies, but the only down side is they only last for a few days. Using faux peonies is so much more practical and honestly you can’t tell the difference unless you touch them.
I found my wooden white washed trees from “grandinroad”. They are currently sold out, but maybe by the end of the year they might be back. The trees blend into the table design nicely and are the perfect size for table-scapes.I placed flocked winter greens along this burlap table runner. A few Christmas ornaments that compliment the peonies and mercury glass votives set a soft festive mood for the table. I carried the soft white, blush and gold tones from the other rooms to the dining room. I like to keep the design around the house the same. It’s nice if you can keep a consistency in your decor.I set the table to compliment the items I used on the table. Green and white tones of the plates and napkins worked perfectly. When I take down the Christmas decorations this weekend, I plan to leave a few items up for Winter. On this table I will leave almost everything except the ornaments. I like to have touches of a winter wonderland here and there. We just started the season of winter two weeks ago, why not carry a winter theme throughout your home for most of the season?
